Here is a large and comprehensive sterling dinner service by Allan Adler in the Modern Georgian pattern, discontinued 1969. It is a service for 12 with 14 good servers in an elegant brass mounted 2-tier Gorham chest.
Each piece is exquisitely handcrafted giving it a very appealing hammered texture. This set was, after all, made by a master craftsman.
In 1938 Allan Adler,1916-2002, was introduced to and trained in this craft by another great arts and crafts silversmith, his father-in-law Porter Blanchard. Two years later Adler launched his own business and rose to become one of the most celebrated silversmiths of his time.
