Product Description
A wonderful piece of American sterling holloware by Galt & Brother of Washington, DC. Originally established in 1802, the firm rose to become the premier silversmiths of the nation's capital, patronised by the likes of Lincoln and Davis.
With some of the best engraving I have ever seen, it is resplendent with very fine floral decoration, leaving a large vacant cartouche. No inscription or erasure.
There is an old sticker under the foot with the name of Clayton. E. Rich, of Rich Department Stores. That is the only provenance I have. Measures 16.75" tall and weighs 57 T.oz.
