Here is a exquisitely carved shell cameo in deep relief of a romantic scene. At first glance it appears to be religious in nature but, on closer inspection, the iconic figures of the cherubs, the shepherd and Mother Mary look-alike reveal a different theme. The carved frame-work of trees with patchy clouds in the background give a very 3-dimensional look.Great detail.
Set in a 14K, marked, frame.
In very good condition. No cracks in the cameo or damage to the frame.
