Here is a beautiful fruit set of 4 serving spoons and a grape shears, each crafted out of silver plate with a vermeil finish. The set was made by Elkington and Co., of Sheffield, England, and each piece is hallmarked accordingly. The case, also, is marked with the name of Elkington under a crowned logo with 'BY APPOINTMENT', signifying the fact that they were Royal silversmiths.
In excellent, almost unused, condition. Each piece bears an engraved crest of a mythical beast holding an arrowhead in its beak. So far I have no further information regarding this crest.
The case is in remarkable condition for its age. The inside appears to have seen little use. The outside shows quite a bit of scuffing along the sides and base. The clasp and hinges are intact and functioning.
