Product Description

A medium-sized sterling meat platter, of fairly plain form but with a few accents that indicate the work of the grand master, Paul Storr.
Oval in form with a reeded border highlighted with shell motifs.
Fully hallmarked, including his maker' mark and the date letter, B, for the period July 1797 to May 1798.
Up to 1973 the Date Letter was changed each year on the 19th May (later 28th May), which was St. Dunstan's day. He is the patron saint of English silversmiths.
Very good condition, just very light surface wear.
Dimensions: 14.25" x 10.5". Weight 28 troy oz.
