Product Description
Coin silver goblet with grape-vine swags and presentation inscription, by Baldwin & Co., Newark, NJ c.1857.
This design of this goblet has been attributed to Baldwin & Co, Newark, NJ, c.1840-69 and is marked with his pseudo-marks inside the foot. They are faint but they are there.
I have included an extract from the 1966 edition of The Museum, a publication by the Newark Museum, to show the marks used. The two marks on the far right.
I have also included another extract, from the same publication, which illustrates two similar goblets by Baldwin.
It is decorated with applied cast silver grape-vine swags, with a fine beaded border round the lip and foot.
Its in very good condition, just light usage scratches. Nice patina.
Presentation inscription dated 1857.
